VANTAGE Mission Technologies was founded by public safety professionals with decades of real-world leadership and operational experience. Our background extends beyond simply operating unmanned aircraft—we have led organizations, developed UAS programs, established policies and procedures, trained pilots, navigated FAA regulatory requirements, and integrated drone technology into real-world public safety operations.

Rob Handy

Former Chief of Police for both the San Bernardino Police Department and Huntington Beach Police Department in California. During his tenure with Huntington Beach, the department implemented a UAS program as part of its evolving public safety capabilities. Rob brings extensive executive leadership, organizational management, public safety, risk management, and technology implementation experience to VANTAGE.

Robert Kuhn

Retired Phoenix Police Officer and FAA-certificated Remote Pilot. He developed the Drone as First Responder (DFR) program for a local campus law enforcement agency, including its operational framework, pilot training program, Standard Operating Procedures, and departmental UAS policy.Robert has trained public safety drone pilots and has hands-on experience conducting both docked and non-docked UAS operations. His experience also includes developing advanced operational procedures and working through the FAA waiver process to support expanded UAS capabilities.
